brighton

Went riding at Brighton today, it was amazing. No crowds, clear skies, no wind, cool temps. Fluffy pow in quite a few spots, and the groomers stayed zip-zip corduroy the entire day. Perfect. It's amazing how with just a cleverly engineered piece of equipment and the most fundamental force in the universe (gravity) such subtle and gentle movements can have so much control at such speeds, incredible feeling. I love that place, even though its been years since I'd been there, it felt like I'd never left....

This may not have been the best idea, but I couldn't resist:

Hop, skip and a... Jump.

Not too much at the park yet, some little rails and this big old boxy wall thing. The snowboard kids were having a ball on it.

Goodbye Ogden

Historic 25th Street, strait down the middle.

Coca-cola has been refreshing the good people of Ogden for nearly 100 years...

...and Willie Moore has been cutting hair here for almost as long.

Even our very own building once supported Coca-cola's quest to quench
the thirst of every weary traveler in the city.

Not sure who this little indian girl is supposed to be, but the statue
(one of many on this block) made a nice foreground, I thought.

As a major railroad junction since the wild-west days,
Ogden has a great history of trains.

Looking strait back up the middle of historic 25th.

Apparently, re-painting those huge words on brick buildings
isn't really a priority these days.

It's Snowing!!

It's been snowing lightly off and on in the valley for a fews days now, and the mountains have been encloudulated for quite awhile. So we took advantage of the holiday today and drove up little cottonwood canyon. The blessing of advantageous storm-stopping geography had given the place a ton more snow than anywhere else, so we went up to play.

We had a blast...
...trudging,

munching,

meditating,

...and being my angels.

...finding HUGE icicles,

catching snowflakes on tongues,

and just being in the snow.

Nothing better than new snow and time spent together!
