This was a nice hike, you go from 29th a few blocks along the mountain then across a nice little bridge and up into the canyon. A ways up you come across this little creek coming down from off the trail. A few weeks ago, I left the trail and followed the creek up some steep scree to this nice little waterfall, I hung out at that spot for a little while enjoying the scene. I didn't have my camera that day, so today I took my camera and followed the same creek. I took some pics of that waterfall, then went a bit higher than last time, up around some boulders, and discovered that the creek is actually a spring that shoots strait out of a little cave in the rock, all Moses style. It flows down throw the falls, and a thru a few more nice little spots, then after less than a mile it dwindles and disappears into the dry creek bed that follows the rest of the canyon. I tried a few different things with the camera, then hiked up to the top of the ridge. Good times.
The source of the creek. Just like Moses and the staff.
The main falls, the one I found last time. A very peaceful little spot.
A little rumble spot.
The same spot and same shutter speed, about 1 second.
But shooting the flash off as well.
It was late afternoon, and there wasn't much light up that high in the canyon.
So I was able to shoot at very low speeds,
(from around 1 to 5 seconds; at between 13 and 22 stops).
One of the smaller falls at the bottom.
The creek right as it dries up, all that water just disappears.
These look awesome sam! that is so nice that you have these spots within a 2 minute drive from home.
