brighton

Went riding at Brighton today, it was amazing. No crowds, clear skies, no wind, cool temps. Fluffy pow in quite a few spots, and the groomers stayed zip-zip corduroy the entire day. Perfect. It's amazing how with just a cleverly engineered piece of equipment and the most fundamental force in the universe (gravity) such subtle and gentle movements can have so much control at such speeds, incredible feeling. I love that place, even though its been years since I'd been there, it felt like I'd never left....

This may not have been the best idea, but I couldn't resist:

Hop, skip and a... Jump.

Not too much at the park yet, some little rails and this big old boxy wall thing. The snowboard kids were having a ball on it.

  3. It rocked! Jonathan (and everyone else who reads this) should go there. I didn't jump off any cliffs, I held the camera on the way down some cruisers and hopped over some rollers, and hit some fluffy side pow, shooting pics practically the whole way down. My 2 favorite cups of tea at the same time;)

  4. Also, not sure if you can see it, but there are tracks down several of the bowls and chutes in the first pic. Behind Brighton is some of the best and fairly accessible backcountry in the country, (you'll often see pics in magazines from back there) people had been hiking all over there the day before, must have been awesome.

  5. you sound like your speaking a foreign language... "chutes, cruisers, rollers, fluffy side pow..." not sure what it all means, but pretty sure that it sounds like an awesome day! glad your camera survived!
